They talked to each other and a few hours later called their group like this. The four kind nice Italians were fully in agreement during the 2 day tour to Kerman, Mahan, Rayen and Kaluts in Lut Desert. kalootskalouts

4 different personalities but always close and friendly. While Ivan was very much into photography,

sunset of kaluts

Nicoletta was more into enjoying the new landscapes and places. The time before and after sunset and sunrise of Kaluts was so incredible that Francesca and Nicoletta tried to sink into silence and surprise the stunning landscape offered.

Ivan was the nice friendly photographer for every one. Veronica was courageous and and strong. Trekking on the earth in Kaluts was not easy with bare feet for Francesca!

Yas Guesthouse

The tour also visited the colorful mountains and they enjoyed the carpet weaving workshop on the way to Rayen. Ivan and Veronica visited towers of silence on the hills near Kerman while Francesca and Nicoletta preferred to stay in Yas Guesthouse and rest. Saluti a tutti.

PHD students of geophysics

The tour to Mahan, Rayen, Bam and Kaluts took 2 days.

Arg-e-Bam

Rolando and Gianmarco students of geophysics and Laura a student of nerves sciences all PHD level were members of the tour. Right from the beginning of the route to lut desert and in the mountainous road of Sirch, stops started. It was unique opportunity for me as a guide to learn a lot about geology, geomorphology, formation of mountains, kaluts, egg hills etc,. At the same time, they had the chance of tangibly experiencing what they have already studied  through books and sources at university. However, it was Laura who was the only adventurous member of the tour to trek, climb and take lots of pictures.

What made the three visitors surprised, the cool weather in Kerman, Mahan, Rayen and Sirch. Three different persons in Yazd had recommended them not to visit Kerman as it is HOTTER than Yazd!!!!!! However, since they had arranged their itinerary a few months ago, they couldn’t change and skip Kerman. Finally, it became a matter of joke and fun to remember the recommendation! Even, the heat of Lut Desert was not felt as the organization was perfect.

Rayen citadel

I am grateful to ROlando and Gianmarco for the scientific information they offered me during the visit to Kaluts, egg hills and Sirch village. I wish them all, as representatives of Napoli,  happiness, prosperity and success. “We must not forget that sometimes some facts are as long as hundreds of kilometers!!!!!!”

The two day tour to Mahan, Rayen, Kaluts and Shahdad was great. The five nice members were in full agreement in everything.

shazde garden

The spice of the group was Andrea to whom everybody was kind and he was very dear to all. Sabrina who was considered the head was brave and adventurous. Benedata, though suffering a problem in her foot, joined the fun activities. Francesco, calm and nice, recorded everything in his memory, so patient. And Orsolla, for whom the heat was both a new experience and a matter was the only member with the fan in hand even in the van.

It had been stormy and hot during the day but we managed to arrive at the right time. The night of desert left all of us a stressful memory. AC could not start due to the low voltage the reason of which had been he fire in Shahdad and burning some trees and wooden lamp posts. To breathe in the room was too difficult. But midnight was the time everything ended in goodness. Coming back from the large Caravanserai the next morrning, a white dog found us very familiar. He approached and in his own method greeted each of us. and Orsolla was the first to touch him. Sabrina and Benedetta bravely stepped into the flowing old qanat around 8 meters underground and trekked for dozens of meters in the water. Visiting the five amazing Indian doors of Shah Nematollah Mausoleum (artistically made 4 centuries ago with marquetry and enameling on) was the ending part of the tour on August 7.  rayen

Kerman city tour

Nice Italian Girls

Valentina and Serena, two brave girls from Italy, visited Kerman area for 3 days. By brave, it means that while many Europeans are afraid of traveling to the hottest spot of the earth, these two did it!

Keshit canyon

June 5 in the afternoon, they stepped into the Kaluts area on an off-road tour by a 4*4 pickup. They left shoes aside and trekked on the hot sand around with bare feet.

From two full days being in Lut desert, they passed one day in Keshit where the amazing canyon is an enjoyable destination not only as an amazing destination but also funny trekking in water and even swimming and diving!

The round big cement cake with candles around at the garden in Keshit village was a big surprise to Valentina because it was her birthday! While Helia, the daughter of the owner of the garden was giving a ride on the 4*4 motorbike to Valentina, others in her absence decorated that strange cake with candles in the dark. When she returned to the garden, she was so excited by hearing the happy birthday song at the garden in the dark with candles burning.

Keshit village

Serena, the master in special jumping in the air (!!), was always kind, smiling and helpful.

Irankalut wishes them a happy prosperous life.

Corina and her daughter

Mariam and Corina, the Italian daughter and mom, finally got the chance of visiting Kaluts area at least for a day. It is interesting that they were very lucky as the sky was blue and they also visited Rayen castle, Shazde garden in Mahan, colorful mountains, egg hills and salty river. It is a record for one single day!!

Corina was very human, kind, open and social and at the same time very much fond of classical music. She even skipped visiting some places and preferred to sit in the car for listening to Persian classical music. Her daughter, Mariam, asked the driver to play only classical. Corina said her children grew up with classical music!!

Irankalut wishes them happier times.

Belgium and France

The three dutch speaking Belgiums David, Victor and Seimen together with Frank from France visited Lut Desert, colorful mountains, Rayen and Mahan. Breaking and eating sunflower seeds is an easy thing for Iranians but sometimes very complicating for Europeans. Frank was so amused with breaking and eating that the guide had to mention that he was losing the chance of watching the beautiful landscapes on the way. Victor was very stingy. He was holding the small nylon of seeds in the back seat. whenever the driver asked for more seeds, he put only one or two in his palm. The four members of the tour were really good companies. The guide in the first minutes after the start of the tour said that David looked like a famous footballer when Frank who was sitting in the front seat approved and mentioned the name of Van Persi from the Netherlands.

Spain, Ireland & Andora

Eva from Spain, Zita Irish and Tomas Andorran joined a tour to Kaluts, Rayen and Mahan. Unfortunately, Eva did not speak English and Tomas had to translate into Spanish. The chemistry teacher, Zita, had the chance of benefiting more from visiting Kaluts area because the forming elements are related to the science of chemistry. Eva quite cool, Zita smiling but Tomas super active. He knew no risk and run up the stiff rocky hills on the way to Rayen. He wanted to take pictures on top of hills from colorful mountains where he fell and damaged his only pants.

They ended the tour by eating dinner (Dolmeh, an Iranian traditional healthy dish, at a cozy traditional restaurant) in Kerman the second day.

Nice Italian family

The four member tour to Kaluts, Mahan and Keshit Canyon was memorable. Danilo, the father, was full of energy and very dynamic. He was always trying to explore more and he was the first to start, climb etc. He was not very much into talking but could not hide his excitement at the amazing sites and landscapes and expressed in Italian, “Multobello”. His prefossinal camera could not take any rest as he tried to record any amazing view.

His wife, Stefania, was calm and relaxed. She was into watching the landscapes and just being with the group. She was not into photography. She enjoyed her favorite food, ‘Ghoormeh Sabzi and Dolmeh’ in Shahdad and Kerman. She complained about absence of vegetarian dishes but when she had it during the tour, she was very happy.

The son, Emiliano and his wife Stefania, were really nice. Emiliano sometimes made funny games. It was interesting to see the father and son creating happy atmosphere by making jokes or even trying to make their childhood revived. The young Stefania, so kind and good company, made videos of almost all places. She was the first to sleep in the car on the long routes. This warm nice friendly group left us lots of positive energy.

Fransois, Cathy & Sonia

What a memorable tour ! All the attractions in Lut Desert were visited. Cathy got surprised when we lighted candles and started singing the happy birthday song. On the way back from Yalan dunes, what a nice thing happened. Francois learned all numbers in Persian even a nine-digit number but after a while the car went deep into sand and every one tried to help taking it out. Cathy finally sat at the role and pulled back while we were pushing. Our plates were really helpful. Sonia kept on laughing all the time that transferred lots of energy to the group. On the off road to Keshit, the tour was chanting french songs and it helped them to enjoy the long sandy off-road trip. Thank you for your happy moods.

Shah Nematolah

Posted By : irankalut/ 413 0

Mahan is also well-known for the tomb of the great Sufi leader Shah Nematollah-e-Vali.

The tomb of Shah Nur-eddin Nematollah Vali, poet, sage, Sufi and founder of an order of dervishes, has twin minarets covered with turquoise tiles from the bottom up to the cupola.

Ahmad Shah Dakani (Indian king) had the mausoleum built; the rest of the building was constructed during the reigns of Shah Abbas I, Mohammad Shah Qajar and Nasser-al-Din Shah. Shah Nematallah Vali spent many years wandering through central Asia perfecting his spiritual gifts before finally settling at Mahan, twenty miles south-east of Kerman, where he passed the last twenty five years of his life. He died in 1431, having founded a Darvish order. The central domed burial vault at Mahan, completed in 1437 was erected under the order of Ahmad Shah Bahmani, king of the Deccan (India), and one of Shah Nematallah’s most devoted disciples.

He paid the expenses of construction of a beautiful dome and sent 5 amazing wooden doors finely decorated with marquetry and enameling. These doors are still in use and very beautiful.

The internal beautiful architecture is a blend of Persian and Indian. The place enjoys a special spiritual atmosphere therein no one talks loudly as if automatically any incomer gets silent.
